Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of North Carolina LLC in Harrells, NC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, deliver customer service excellence, and mentor team members. You will assist with merchandise placement, opening and closing procedures, loss prevention, and ensuring safety and policy adherence while maintaining a clean, welcoming store environment.

The role requires strong communication, the ability to read directives, and prior retail or grocery management

Qualifications

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record keeping.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and procedures including safety guidelines.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and associates.
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, waste, and neatness.
