Job summary

Family Dollar in North Carolina is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily operations, assist customers, and develop store teams. You will support opening/closing, merchandise flow, and adherence to company policies.

You will supervise and train Store Associates, uphold safety standards, and ensure the store remains clean, organized, and welcoming for customers and staff alike.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
• Excellent customer service, organizational and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional displays and store-front fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked store and secure assets including cash.
• Supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a safe, respectful environment with professional interactions.
