Job summary

Family Dollar in Ellerbe, NC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day store activities, support opening and closing procedures, and ensure merchandise is stocked and presented according to company standards.

The role requires strong communication, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to supervise and train Store Associates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store (preferred).
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties.
• Strong communication and customer service skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional displays and storefront fixtures for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean, restrooms stocked, floors clean, trash removed, and areas neat.
• Other duties as assigned.
