ALDI in Chicago, IL is seeking a Full-Time Assistant Store Manager to help lead daily store operations, supervise team members, manage schedules, and develop actionable plans to improve performance.

You will work closely with the store leader to uphold company standards, train staff, handle customer concerns, monitor inventory, and ensure productivity while maintaining compliance with cash handling policies.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older
• Ability to lead others to provide prompt and courteous customer service
• Develop rapport and open communication to enhance performance
• Interpret and apply company policies and procedures
• Manage budgeting, personnel costs, and expenses
• Operate a cash register accurately
• Maintain store cleanliness and signage

Responsibilities

• Assist the direct leader with developing action plans to improve operating results
• Set clear responsibilities and performance expectations for direct reports
• Identify training opportunities to improve performance
• Observe and uphold core company values to foster teamwork
• Monitor competitive environment and adjust as needed
• Provide product feedback and assist in merchandising decisions
• Participate in interviewing store personnel
• Ensure inventory procedures and cash controls are followed
• Resolve customer concerns in absence of direct leader
• Maintain safety, ergonomics and equipment upkeep
• Support payroll and loss prevention efforts
• Oversee daily operations and communicate milestones
• Ensure timely completion of assigned tasks
