Job summary

ALDI USA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, supervise staff, and drive store performance in a fast-paced retail environment.

You will assist with scheduling, training, and implementing operational plans while upholding ALDI's core values and customer service standards. This role requires leadership, strong communication, and a hands-on approach to problem-solving.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in a retail environment preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership and the ability to supervise and develop a team.
• Strong communication skills and customer service orientation.
• Ability to manage schedules, inventory, and basic payroll metrics.
• Knowledge of cash handling and store security policies.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced retail setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist the direct leader with developing and implementing action plans to improve operating results.
• Establish and communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports.
• Identify training and development opportunities for direct reports.
• Model ALDI core values and foster teamwork.
• Monitor competition and inform leadership of adjustments needed.
• Provide product feedback and recommendations on items to carry or discontinue.
• Participate in interviewing store personnel.
• Communicate weekly information and milestones to the team.
• Ensure adherence to inventory, product handling, and cash control policies.
• Resolve customer concerns in leadership's absence.
• Identify hazards and maintain equipment in proper working order.
• Maintain store cleanliness and signage.
• Assist with stocking and stock level maintenance.
• Merchandise products to maximize sales.
• Ensure product quality and signage accuracy.
• Contribute to payroll and loss prevention efforts.
• Supervise day-to-day team operations and escalate issues as needed.
• Ensure assigned tasks are completed timely with high service standards.
