Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Store Manager to lead a busy retail location in Houston. You will oversee staffing, training, customer service, and daily store execution to meet sales targets and maintain standards.

The role requires strong leadership, cash handling proficiency, inventory control, and excellent communication with team members and customers. This is a full-time, on-site position with growth opportunities and a focus on loss prevention and safety.

Qualifications

• Must be able to recruit, hire and train staff according to company policies.
• Ability to manage staff performance, coaching and termination when required.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposits.
• Strong inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees according to federal and state labor laws and Company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provides proper training for employees; conducts performance evaluations; identifies gaps for appropriate solutions and/or counseling, up to and including termination.
• Makes recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicates performance, conduct and safety expectations regularly; coordinates meetings and events to encourage safety, security and policies.
• Ensures the store is adequately staffed and effectively opened and closed each day.
