Job summary

PetSmart’s Retail Operations Lead will drive operational excellence across merchandising, inventory management, and pet care operations. The role includes opening/closing the store, overseeing associates, and maintaining a safe, clean environment that reflects the PetSmart brand.

The position requires at least 2 years of retail supervisory experience, full-time availability, strong communication skills, and proficiency with computer applications.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail supervisory experience in a customer-focused environment.
• Full-time availability required, flexibility in schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in maintaining a visually appealing store layout.

Responsibilities

• Lead and guide associates in merchandise handling, training, and standards.
• Support associate development, onboarding, coaching, and feedback.
• Delegate and validate daily task completion.
• Direct store leadership when on duty, supervise during shifts.
• Address associate concerns and escalations as needed.
• Maintain merchandising standards and store layout excellence.
• Oversee inventory, audits, stock levels, and markdowns.
• Operate POS systems and manage cash per policy.
• Ensure adherence to Policies, Procedures and Code of Ethics.
