Safeway is seeking a Third Person in Charge to manage store operations when the Store Director and ASD are absent. This role focuses on customer service, training, hiring coordination, and merchandising execution to support leadership development.

The position emphasizes closing shift leadership, day-to-day store supervision, and collaboration with late shift staff to meet daily operational needs while maintaining safety and company standards.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years of retail experience.

Responsibilities

• Works closing shifts to run total store operations in the absence of the Store Director and ASD.
• Fills in for ASD on days off or vacations and supports late shift operations.
• Oversees customer service and handles customer complaints in SD/ASD absence.
• Initiates corrective action and coordinates with late shift operations.
• Trains Head Clerks for promotion to Third Person in Charge.
• Supports safety culture and onboarding of new hires.
