Job summary

Safeway in Northern California seeks a Third Person in Charge to oversee store operations when the Store Director and Assistant Store Director are away. The role includes customer service, employee training, and aiding merchandising execution to meet store goals.

You will coordinate with head clerks and late-shift staff, supervise employees, and maintain safety and quality standards across all departments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Four+ years of retail experience required.
• Retail grocery experience preferred.
• Strong written and oral communication, leadership, and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Runs total store operations during the absence of the Store Director and ASD.
• Supervises staff and handles customer complaints in the absence of leadership.
• Coordinates hiring needs and participates in interviews with Store Director/ASD.
• Trains Head Clerks/PICs and onboard new hires.
• Directs late shift operations and day-to-day tasks for closing shifts.
