Job summary

ALDI is hiring an Assistant Store Manager in the United States (Illinois). The role shares responsibility for supervising daily store activities, developing action plans, managing schedules, and mentoring team members to improve store performance.

The position offers full-time hours (averages 38 per week) with starting wages around $26 per hour and a wage increase to $27 per hour in Year 2. Benefits are provided to full-time staff.

Qualifications

• Ability to stay organized and multi-task in a professional and efficient manner.
• Meets state/local requirements for handling alcoholic beverages.

Responsibilities

• Assist with supervising day-to-day store activities and support the direct leader.
• Develop and implement action plans to improve operating results.
• Communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations.
• Identify training opportunities to develop store team.
• Ensure inventory procedures, product handling, and cash control policies.
• Contribute to payroll, loss prevention, and overall store performance.
• Supervise daily operations and escalate issues when needed.
• Maintain store cleanliness and proper signage.
• Merchandise products neatly and ensure freshness and signage accuracy.
• Participate in interviewing and onboarding of store personnel.
