Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations with a customer-first focus. You will supervise staff, present merchandise, and assist with deposits, while protecting assets and maximizing profitability.

You will engage in stocking, cashier duties, scheduling, training, and ensuring compliance with company policies. This role includes opening/closing the store and maintaining planograms.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in retail and supervisory roles is a plus.
• Strong communication and customer service skills required.
• Ability to follow company policies, safety practices, and cash-handling procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate cash register and scanner to itemize purchases.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise flow including receiving, stocking, and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy by controlling damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Assist with planograms and merchandising presentation.
• Ensure cashier accountability, cash control, and deposits.
• Assist in store management in the Store Manager's absence.
