Dollar General seeks an Assistant Store Manager to maintain a clean, customer-first store and assist with supervision, merchandise presentation, and cash handling, including deposits.

Under the Store Manager's direction, you will open/close, train staff, ensure policy compliance, and help protect assets. This role emphasizes teamwork, efficiency, and profitability in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Retail experience and supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers and operate cash register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise including receiving, stocking, and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, and paperwork.
• Assist with planograms and merchandise presentation according to standards.
• Support cash handling accuracy, refunds, overrides, and deposit procedures; cash control.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager's absence.
