Job summary

Dollar Tree seeks an Assistant Store Manager to help oversee daily store operations, elevate customer service, and develop a cohesive team. In this role you will assist with opening/closing, merchandise processing, payroll and scheduling, loss prevention, and maintaining a clean, well‑stocked sales floor.

The successful candidate will have prior store management experience and strong communication skills, thriving in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Process corporate directives related to store activities
• Maintain promotional storefront fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits) and loss prevention
• Maintain clean, well-stocked store areas and organized stockroom
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff follow procedures
• Assist Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing Store Associates
• Maintain safe, positive, and respectful environment with customers and staff
• Maintain cleanliness across the store, bathrooms, floors, and waste management
• Support other duties as assigned
