Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager for our Knoxville, TN location to help run a clean, customer-first store under the Store Manager's direction.

You will supervise employees, assist with stocking, cashier duties, and deposits, and help ensure profitable operations while protecting assets.

Strong communication and organizational skills are required; occasional open/close duties are expected to support store leadership.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or strongly preferred.
• Experience in retail supervisory role is desired.
• Ability to operate cash register and handle deposits.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers, operate cash register and scanner.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling, training, safety meetings and compliance.
• Manage merchandise: receiving, stocking, restocking and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy; control damages, markdowns and paperwork.
• Support planograms and merchandise presentation per guidance.
• Ensure financial integrity: cashier accountability, cash control, deposits.
• Assist with store coverage in Store Manager's absence.
