Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a busy retail location with a customer-first focus. You will support the Store Manager in supervising staff, merchandising, and cash handling while protecting assets and maximizing profitability.

Responsibilities include coordinating schedules, training, safety, inventory controls, and ensuring planogram compliance to maintain store standards. Prior supervisory experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong customer service leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to operate cash register and scanner.
• Ability to manage inventories and deposits with accuracy.
• Ability to travel to the bank and other Dollar General stores.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate cash register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling employees and training, and safety meetings.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise, receiving, stocking, and displays.
• Maintain inventory levels by controlling damages and markdowns and handling paperwork.
• Assist with planograms and proper product presentation.
• Ensure financial integrity with cashier accountability and deposits; assist with refunds and overrides.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager's absence.
