Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to uphold a clean, customer-first store with strong supervision of staff and merchandising. You will assist with scheduling, training, safety meetings, and adherence to policies as you support profitability and asset protection.

The role requires strong customer service, attention to detail, and the ability to manage cash, deposits, and daily store operations under the Store Manager's direction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cashier to itemize purchases.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees and training; conduct safety meetings and ensure policy compliance.
• Follow store processes to manage merchandise: receiving, stocking, rotating, and building displays.
• Maintain accurate inventory; monitor damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Assist with planograms and ensure correct product placement per direction.
• Ensure financial integrity through cashier accountability, deposits, and cash control procedures; sign refunds/overrides as needed.
• Provide leadership in the Store Manager's absence and support store operations.
