Job summary

Food Lion in the United States is seeking an experienced Store Manager to lead daily store operations, drive sales, and uphold Food Lion's safety and quality standards. You will supervise associates, hire and train staff, manage budgets, and ensure exceptional customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.

You will collaborate with district leadership to implement company policies, control inventory, monitor security, and foster a positive, compliant work culture across all departments.

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent preferred.
• Department Manager or equivalent experience required.
• Strong understanding of store operations and total store merchandising techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Good judgment solving problems, making decisions, handling complaints, arbitrating disputes and resolving grievances.
• Desire and ability to lead and manage associates across departments.

Responsibilities

• Hire, train, and develop associates.
• Manage performance through coaching, appraisal and disciplinary efforts.
• Provide leadership and motivation within the store to promote a strong culture.
• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with emphasis on fast and easy customer service.
• Ensure proper control of all store funds and company assets.
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Understand and use company tools and systems (ACIS, CAO, etc.).
• Support achievement of store budgeted financial and operating results.
• Serve as Manager on Duty when Store Manager is absent.
• Assist Store Manager with day-to-day operations.
