Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a Store Manager to lead retail operations in Maryland. You will hire, train and develop a team, drive sales, and manage budgets while maintaining high standards of security, safety and food safety.

Responsibilities include performance management, coaching, and serving as Manager on Duty when the Store Manager is not present. Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent preferred.
• Department Manager or equivalent experience required.
• Strong understanding of store operations and merchandising.
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements.
• Must meet minimum age requirements for the role.
• Accreditation by the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals or equivalent, or ability to obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Hire, train, and develop associates.
• Manage performance through coaching, appraisal and disciplinary actions.
• Provide leadership and motivation within the store to reflect our guiding principles.
• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with fast and easy service.
• Ensure proper control of store funds and company assets.
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions and ensure safety standards.
• Ensure compliance with security, safety and food safety standards.
• Serve as Manager on Duty when the Store Manager is absent.
• Assist the Store Manager with day-to-day operations and staffing across departments.
