Job summary

Five Below in Salem, VA is seeking a hands-on leader to oversee daily store operations and drive customer satisfaction. This role requires managing associates, ensuring fast, friendly checkout, and maintaining store standards.

You will open/close the store, handle cash, train staff, and partner with the leadership team on merchandising and cost controls. A minimum of one year in management and strong communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Wowing the Customer through personal contact with customers. Trains the crew on the BEST customer service experience; ensuring that each guest has a fast, friendly check out experience.
• Oversee the daily activities of all store associates, ensuring they perform duties effectively and provide excellent customer service.
• Assist with receiving, unpacking, and organizing new stock to ensure items are quickly and efficiently placed on the sales floor.
• Act as Manager on Duty when needed, taking full responsibility for store operations, staff management, customer service, and addressing urgent issues.
• Manage the opening or closing of the store, including securing cash, locking doors, setting alarms, and ensuring daily operations run smoothly.
• Support onboarding and ongoing training of associates on store policies, product knowledge, and procedures to improve performance.
• Drive store sales and control expenses by optimizing merchandising, staff performance, and customer service.
• Partner with the store leadership team on merchandising procedures and World Recovery.
• Perform store maintenance such as garbage removal, sweeping, bathrooms cleaning, and stock room upkeep.
