Job summary

Family Dollar in Mount Oliver, PA seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store activities, organize merchandise, and ensure shelves and stockrooms are well-maintained.

The role includes opening/closing duties, handling directives, payroll and scheduling, and upholding store policies. You will train staff and foster a positive, safe environment for customers and associates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical duties.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and procedures including safety guidelines.
• Help store manager supervise, train, and develop store associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Keep store clean and presentable; manage bathrooms, floors, trash.
