Job summary

Chico’s FAS, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Connecticut to support the store manager in sales, operations, asset protection, and human resources, ensuring a great customer experience and profitability.

Responsibilities include staff scheduling, training, cash handling, inventory control, and maintaining visual standards across stores in the district. Flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 18 years old or older.
• Minimum 3 years prior retail or sales management experience preferred.
• Excellent communication, verbal and written skills.
• Able to travel to stores throughout the district.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Knowledge of administrative aspects of store operations.
• Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; stand and move on floor and stockroom.
• Regular attendance is essential to meet company objectives.
• Flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepares weekly schedules to ensure proper floor coverage and submits payroll docs.
• Promotes customer service by greeting and assisting customers and addressing inquiries promptly.
• Supervises associates in sales, inventory receipt, cash handling, and customer service tasks.
• Models sales techniques and helps customers locate merchandise based on needs.
• Maintains a visually appealing store with proper housekeeping and merchandising.
• Trains associates on visual merchandising techniques to maintain standards.
• Monitors sales activity, provides feedback and coaching to drive performance.
• Manages cash handling, price changes, and merchandise handling per policy.
• Oversees inventory receipt/dispatch, replenishment, and physical inventories.
• Ensures store operations comply with policies and safety requirements.
• Assists in recruiting, hiring, and developing store associates; supports performance evaluations.
