Job summary

Chico's FAS, Inc. in United States (Massachusetts Canton area) seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support the store manager in driving sales, operations, loss prevention, and HR functions to deliver a great customer experience and profitability.

The role oversees scheduling, customer service, associate supervision, merchandising, and financial activities, with responsibility for recruiting and staff development across the district stores.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 18 years old or older.
• Minimum 3 years prior retail or sales management experience preferred.
• Excellent communication, verbal and written skills.
• Able to travel to stores throughout the district.
• Knowledge of administrative aspects of store operations.
• Regular attendance is essential.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds; stand and maneuver on sales floor and stockroom.

Responsibilities

• Prepares weekly schedules to ensure floor coverage within fiscal guidelines; reviews time sheets and payroll docs.
• Promotes customer service by greeting and assisting customers; responds to inquiries and complaints professionally.
• Supervises associates in sales, inventory receipt, cash handling, and customer services.
• Models sales techniques and product knowledge to customers; helps locate merchandise based on customer needs.
• Maintains a visually appealing store with housekeeping and visual merchandising standards.
• Trains associates on visual merchandising techniques.
• Monitors sales activities and provides performance feedback; motivates and coaches staff.
• Handles cash, price changes, and merchandise handling per policy.
• Manages inventory receipt/dispatch, daily replenishment, and physical inventories.
• Ensures store operations are safe and well-maintained; supports compliance with policies.
• Assists in recruiting, hiring, and development of store associates; analyzes KPI reports and provides coaching.
• Other duties as assigned.
