Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate in Oregon to assist the Store Manager with staffing, merchandising, inventory control, and daily store operations. You will help supervise employees, ensure pricing accuracy, and maintain a safe, clean shopping environment.

This role involves assisting in openings/closings, handling store finances, and supporting adherence to company policies. External candidates preferred with retail experience; bilingual skills may be advantageous.

Qualifications

• Reading diagrams, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit controls.
• Familiarity with IBM cash register functions and report generation.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies (deposits, store keys, SAFE and STARS programs).
• Experience recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling, and termination practices including legal compliance.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills and teamwork.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to solve problems with limited standardization.
• Location may favor bilingual Spanish speakers.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and staging, pricing, and signage per store manager directions.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and paperwork.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide strong customer service leadership.
• Follow company procedures and policies.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensure proper deposits and cashier accountability.
