Qualifications

• Reading and interpreting documents such as diagrams, safety rules, and manuals.
• Ability to perform basic math and percentage calculations.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including deposit controls.
• Ability to learn IBM cash register functions and generate reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Organized and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Bilingual Spanish speakers may be preferred at some locations.
• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Retail experience and understanding of federal labor laws are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and stocking per practices and directions.
• Assist in inventory management and prepare inventories.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership.
• Adhere to company procedures and policies as outlined in manuals.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensure safe deposit of company funds.
• Maintain cash controls and security practices.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked stores and a safe environment.
• Operate store in store manager's absence.
• Review operating statements to identify trends and opportunities.
• Complete paperwork and documentation on time.
