Job summary

Dollar General in Lakeside, OR is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in staffing, inventory control, merchandising and store operations. This role serves as a path for external candidates to develop into a Store Manager.

You will supervise staff, assist with ordering, protect assets, ensure customer service excellence, and participate in opening/closing duties while maintaining store standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Experience in a retail environment is preferred for external candidates.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and perform basic math.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and safety policies.
• Bilingual Spanish speakers may be preferred at some locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and pricing.
• Assist inventory management, cycles, and paperwork.
• Ensure in-stock targets and proper ordering practices.
• Provide customer service leadership and cash control.
• Open/close store and maintain daily operations.
• Review operating statements for trends and control opportunities.
• Complete all required paperwork and documentation.
