Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate in Sisters, Oregon to support the Store Manager in daily operations, staffing, inventory control, and customer service leadership. This limited-duration role focuses on developing an external candidate for the Store Manager position while maintaining store performance and policies.

The successful candidate will participate in opening and closing duties, assist with merchandising, and ensure cash controls and safety standards are followed.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents and procedures.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations including percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposits.
• Familiarity with IBM cash register and POS systems.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Understanding of store security and cash control procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and pricing according to standards.
• Assist in inventory management and conducting inventories.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership and store guidance.
• Act as a role model following company policies and procedures.
• Participate in opening/closing procedures.
• Ensure safe deposit of company funds and cash controls.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked stores and safe environment.
• Operate store in the manager's absence.
• Review operating statements to identify trends and opportunities.
• Complete all required paperwork and documentation.
