Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern California seeks a Store Manager for our Seaside thrift store. You will oversee daily operations, ensure excellent customer and donor service, and drive sales while controlling expenses.

Responsibilities include hiring and training staff, scheduling, compliance with ARC policies, and maintaining inventory. This role requires strong leadership, communication skills, and a commitment to Do The Most Good in the community.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent REQUIRED. (some college preferred).
• Minimum of 3 years of supervisor/management experience in a retail environment (thrift experience preferred).
• Basic understanding of office applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Valid Driver’s license, successfully pass a MVR check (required), proof of insurance and access to a motor vehicle.
• Must pass background check, which will include Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, store employees, customers, and donors.

Responsibilities

• The primary responsibility is to meet sales and income budget expectations while managing expense controls to maximize profitability.
• Plans and directs the day-to-day operations of the store location, including opening/closing procedures, POS operations, inventory management and donations.
• Hire, train and direct the store team, develop performance, and conduct evaluations with HR alignment.
• Schedule employees to ensure coverage; review payroll records and time/attendance.
• Ensure high levels of customer and donor satisfaction and maintain community relations; develop service strategies.
• Ensures safety, security of funds, inventory, and property; follow ARC policy and governmental regulations.
