Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern California is seeking an Assistant Store Manager for the Encino Thrift Store to lead day-to-day operations, coach staff, ensure excellent customer and donor service, and uphold ARC merchandising standards.

The role requires managing cash handling, assisting the Store Manager, scheduling, and supporting inventory control, safety, and loss prevention; full-time on-site role with benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years retail management/supervisory experience.
• Ability to operate POS/cash register accurately.
• Valid driver’s license with proof of insurance.
• Pass background check including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
• Strong communication with management, staff, customers and donors.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Store Manager on day-to-day store operations.
• Lead in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Coach, train and develop store employees.
• Meet customer/donor needs with friendly, efficient service.
• Communicate personnel issues with management and HR as needed.
• Maintain ARC merchandising standards and inventory levels.
• Support loss prevention and safety measures.
• Other duties assigned by Retail Directors and Administration.
