Job summary

Playa Bowls in New Jersey is seeking a General Manager to oversee in-store shifts and administrative work on-site. You will manage team prep, customer service, inventory, scheduling, training, cash handling, and maintenance while ensuring quality and consistency across all offerings.

The role demands leadership, strong communication, and a hands-on approach to daily operations, with extended hours including admin duties.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of restaurant managerial experience.
• Open availability for long hours.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of supply chain.
• Strong communication and active listening.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving.
• Ability to work with employees of all ages.
• Attend mandatory weekly admin meetings (in person or virtual).
• Working smartphone.
• In-store and admin hours - 50 hours weekly.

Responsibilities

• Quality Control - ensure product consistency and freshness.
• Product presentation - monitor prep, portions, and presentation.
• Inventory management - orders, deliveries, and inventory tracking.
• Customer service - investigate and resolve complaints.
• Scheduling - staff hours to meet labor goals.
• Training - organize and direct employee training.
• Store procedures - follow opening/closing procedures and improve operations.
• Cash management - balance tills and deposits; tip distribution.
• Maintenance - schedule equipment maintenance/repairs.
• HR - hiring, evaluations, and personnel issues.
• Marketing initiatives - execute marketing tactics and community outreach.
