Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to oversee all store operations, staffing, ordering, receiving, stocking, and presentation. You will lead a team to drive sales, ensure security, and uphold company policies in a fast-paced retail environment.

The role requires strong leadership, staff development, inventory control, and adherence to federal and company guidelines. OTC training and performance evaluations are part of the responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Ability to recruit, hire and train qualified staff in compliance with laws and policies.
• Strong cash handling, cashier accountability and deposit procedures knowledge.
• Experience with inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interpret documents and perform basic math calculations.
• Bilingual Spanish speakers may be preferred at certain locations.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain staff according to laws and policies, ensuring proper staffing.
• Provide training, conduct evaluations and address performance gaps.
• Recommend pay rates and advancement paths.
• Communicate safety expectations and coordinate meetings.
• Open and close store as scheduled.
• Manage inventory, ordering, replenishment and cycle counts.
• Ensure merchandising standards and accurate pricing/signage.
• Maintain cashier integrity and cash controls.
• Deliver exceptional customer service leadership.
• Maintain clean, safe store environment and operating readiness.
