Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to oversee all facets of store operations in Smithton, IL. You will lead staffing, training, safety, and customer service, while driving sales and controlling costs.

Responsibilities include recruiting, coaching and evaluating staff, opening/closing procedures, and ensuring accurate product presentation and inventory management. You will also ensure compliance with company policies and labor laws.

Qualifications

Ability to recruit, hire and train employees in compliance with federal and state laws and company policies.
Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
Ability to read/interpret diagrams, safety rules and procedures manuals; strong math skills.

Responsibilities

Recruit, select and retain qualified employees and ensure proper staffing.
Provide training, conduct performance evaluations and counsel staff as needed.
Make recommendations on pay rate and promotions; manage safety, conduct and policy expectations.
Open and close the store as required; lead daily operations and ensure security.
Monitor inventory, ordering, and replenishment to meet in-stock targets; manage shrink and errors.
