Job summary

Books-A-Million is seeking an Assistant General Manager to lead daily store operations as Manager On Duty, working with the General Manager to deliver strong sales and customer service. You’ll coach Associates, manage store budgets, and set standards that create an engaging, community-focused shopping experience.

You will grow as a leader, train new talent, and ensure the store runs smoothly with a high level of accountability and teamwork across the management group.

Qualifications

• Requires 21+ years of age and high school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a supervisor role.
• Demonstrated maturity and reliability.
• Ability to supervise a large team of associates.
• Strong decision-making, communication, and merchandising skills.
• Successful completion of all required background screenings.

Responsibilities

• Lead store operations as Manager On Duty and partner with General Manager.
• Drive sales and profits while ensuring adherence to budgets and policies.
• Coach and develop Associates to deliver exceptional customer service.
• Create schedules, briefings, and meetings to align goals.
