Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store leadership professional to manage a retail team, ensure proper staffing, and drive daily store operations. You will train and evaluate staff, enforce policies, and oversee ordering, receiving, stocking and merchandising to support sales goals.

You will personally manage opening and closing, maintain inventory accuracy, and uphold cash controls while delivering superior customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or strongly preferred.
• At least 1 year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to recruit, train, evaluate and coach staff in a busy store.
• Knowledge of cash handling, inventory control and loss prevention.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to laws and policies; ensure store staffing.
• Provide training and conduct evaluations; identify gaps and counsel or terminate as needed.
• Manage pay rate recommendations and advancement decisions.
• Communicate performance and safety expectations; coordinate staff meetings.
• Open and close the store reliably and maintain security, safety and process compliance.
• Monitor sales, turnover, profitability and stock targets; adjust plans weekly.
• Oversee stocking, merchandising, pricing, signage and displays to standards.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and cash controls; ensure proper paperwork and secure facilities.
• Deliver superior customer service leadership and a clean, safe shopping environment.
