Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Store Manager to lead store operations, staff, and customer service. You will oversee staffing, training, performance evaluations, and compliance with company policies and federal/state laws while ensuring efficient opening and closing procedures.

You will manage floor sets, inventory, and cashier activities, aiming to maximize sales, shrink control, and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control.

Responsibilities

• Manage employees and operations to plan, stock, present and sell.
• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees; ensure proper staffing.
• Provide training, conduct evaluations and address performance gaps or termination.
• Set pay rate recommendations and advancement opportunities.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinate meetings.
• Open and close the store regularly and maintain staff coverage.
• Monitor sales, inventory, and expenses to identify trends and opportunities.
• Oversee stock replenishment, merchandising, pricing and signage.
• Ensure cashier accountability, safety, and store security policies.
• Provide strong customer service leadership and a safe shopping environment.
