Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in executing store processes, supervising staff, managing inventory, stocking, and handling cash control duties. Role focuses on developing an external candidate for the Store Manager position for a limited period.

The candidate will assist in recruiting, merchandising, inventory management, and ensuring store policies are followed while maintaining a safe, well-organized environment and meeting in-stock

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; leadership experience preferred.
• Two or more years in a leadership or managerial position.
• Two or more years in a retail grocery store preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and stocking according to established practices.
• Assist in inventory management, damages, markdowns, and reporting.
• Monitor in-stock targets and ordering practices.
• Provide customer service leadership and model company policies.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensure cash control and deposit procedures are followed.
• Maintain clean, safe, and well-stocked store environment.
• Review operating statements for trends and opportunities.
