Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in supervising staff, managing inventory, stocking and receiving, and handling store processes. This role includes developing external candidates for the Store Manager role and is limited in duration.

The candidate will assist in recruiting, merchandising, and inventory control while ensuring excellent customer service and adherence to company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Two or more years of leadership or managerial experience.
• Two or more years of experience in a retail grocery store strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and inventory management including staging, stocking, and pricing according to guidelines.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management including damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork and facility controls; prepare and conduct inventories.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet or exceed in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Operate in the store manager's absence as needed.
• Review operating statements to identify trends, expenses, and potential improvements.
• Complete all paperwork and documentation according to guidelines and deadlines.
