Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to assist the Store Manager in implementing store processes, supervising employees, managing staffing, inventory, stocking and receiving, paperwork and store needs. This role is designed to develop an external candidate for the Store Manager position and is limited in duration.

You will participate in hiring, merchandising, inventory control, bank deposits, and cash handling, while upholding company policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail environment preferred.
• Ability to recruit, hire and train staff.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and pricing.
• Manage inventory controls, damages, markdowns and paperwork.
• Maintain in-stock targets and proper stock flow.
• Provide customer service leadership.
• Support opening/closing procedures and safety controls.
• Ensure cash handling accuracy and deposits.
• Review operating statements for trends and opportunities.
• Complete required documentation on time.
