Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in staffing, inventory management, merchandising, and store operations. This role develops external candidates for the Store Manager track for a limited period.

Responsibilities include assisting with recruiting, merchandising, inventory accuracy, and daily store administration while upholding company policies. Expected to contribute to customer service excellence and financial integrity.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit controls.
• Ability to recruit, hire, train and staff store needs.
• Some bilingual Spanish speakers may be preferred at certain locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and staging, stocking and pricing as directed.
• Assist in inventory management, damages, markdowns, and store paperwork.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership and store operations support.
• Maintain store compliance with company policies and security procedures.
• Participate in opening/closing duties and bank deposits.
• Review operating statements for trends and expense control.
