Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in all store processes, including staffing, inventory management, and merchandising. This role is designed to develop external candidates for the Store Manager position and is limited in duration.

The candidate will assist in recruiting, merchandise presentation, and daily checkout operations while upholding company policies and financial integrity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit controls.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising by staging, stocking and storage of merchandise and pricing according to established practices.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and conduct inventories.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet or exceed in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Open and close the store as required.
• Maintain cash control and adhere to security procedures.
