Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Northern New England is seeking a Store Manager in Bangor, ME to lead a dynamic retail team and drive community impact. You will oversee daily operations, merchandising, staffing, and customer service while ensuring adherence to company policies and budget targets.

The role emphasizes leadership, inventory control, and collaboration with local donors and customers to maximize sales and support Goodwill's mission of providing opportunities for people facing challenges.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or equivalent experience.
• Two years of supervisory experience at Goodwill; or 2+ years of supervisory store manager experience with full P&L responsibility; or 1+ years in a big box environment.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Knowledge of retail operations, including inventory management and pricing strategies.
• Familiarity with retail POS systems and inventory tracking software.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, and manage a team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Ensure customers receive excellent service by maintaining high interactions, merchandising, and store cleanliness standards.
• Oversee inventory control, pricing, stocking, and rotation of merchandise to maximize sales.
• Develop and implement strategies to drive sales growth through merchandising displays and promotions.
• Manage store budgets and financial performance, monitoring expenses and revenue.
• Maintain merchandise quality and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Represent Goodwill in the local community and build partnerships.
