Job summary

Tharp Consulting seeks an experienced Store Manager to lead daily store operations in Fletcher, NC. You will recruit, train, and coach staff, manage inventory, and drive merchandising and customer service to meet business targets.

The role requires strong leadership, cash handling and safety knowledge, with a focus on compliance and financial integrity. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred for this on-site position.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail management preferred; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Knowledge of inventory management, merchandising, cash handling and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select, and retain qualified employees, ensuring proper staffing and compliance with employment laws.
• Train staff, conduct performance reviews, and address gaps through coaching or termination if needed.
• Communicate expectations on performance, conduct, and safety; facilitate meetings promoting safety and policies.
• Oversee daily store opening and closing, with personal involvement in these tasks.
• Analyze operating statements to identify trends, control expenses, and manage inventory effectively.
• Order merchandise to meet or exceed stock targets; manage inventory, damages, and markdowns.
• Ensure proper merchandise presentation, signage, and store cleanliness.
• Maintain financial integrity through cashier accountability, key control, and security practices.
• Lead customer service efforts and ensure a safe, organized shopping environment.
• Adhere to company policies, complete necessary documentation, and ensure team compliance.
