Job summary

Role Overview:

Responsible for managing store operations, including staffing, training, inventory, merchandising, and customer service. Ensures store is properly staffed, maintains safety and security standards, and monitors financial performance through analysis of operating statements. Oversees ordering, stocking, presentation, and inventory control to meet sales targets and optimize profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Recruit, select, train, and evaluate employees in compliance with laws and policies.
• Communicate performance expectations, conduct performance reviews, and address employee development or disciplinary needs.
• Ensure proper opening and closing of the store; personally perform these duties as needed.
• Analyze sales and expense data to identify business trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Manage inventory, ordering, stock replenishment, and merchandise presentation.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels, control damages, markdowns, and secure cash handling.
• Lead customer service efforts and ensure a clean, safe, and organized store environment.
• Adhere to company policies, complete documentation, and ensure staff compliance.

Qualifications & Skills

• Ability to interpret operational documents and perform basic math.
• Knowledge of cash handling, inventory management, and merchandising practices.
• Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Experience in recruiting, coaching, and managing staff, with legal compliance awareness.
• Preferred high school diploma or equivalent; management experience in retail is a plus.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, standing, and moving merchandise.
