Role Overview: Responsible for managing store operations, including staffing, inventory, merchandising, and customer service to ensure effective store performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit, train, evaluate, and retain qualified employees, ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies.
- Communicate performance expectations, conduct evaluations, and address employee development and disciplinary actions.
- Manage store opening and closing procedures, including personal involvement at least twice weekly.
- Analyze financial statements to identify sales trends, control expenses, and minimize shrinkage.
- Oversee inventory management, ordering, and replenishment to meet stock targets and seasonal demands.
- Ensure proper merchandise presentation, signage, and store cleanliness to enhance customer experience.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels, safeguard assets through cash handling and security procedures, and ensure compliance with safety policies.
- Lead customer service efforts and foster a safe, organized environment for staff and shoppers.
- Complete administrative tasks and ensure staff adherence to policies and procedures.
Qualifications & Skills
- Ability to interpret operational documents and perform basic math calculations.
- Knowledge of cash handling, inventory management, and merchandising practices.
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, counseling, and ensuring legal compliance.
- Preferred high school diploma or equivalent; management experience in retail is advantageous.
- Strong leadership qualities with a focus on team development and collaboration.
Physical & Working Conditions
Frequent walking, standing, bending, lifting up to 40-55 pounds, and occasional outside weather exposure in a fast-paced environment.
