Job summary

America’s Thrift Stores is seeking a Manager in Training to transition into a full-time leadership role in our Stores department. You will gain experience across sales, production, donations, and operations while guiding a team to achieve revenue and service goals in a busy retail environment.

You will lead with integrity, implement company standards, and coach staff through onboarding, performance reviews, and daily operations, including opening/closing, cash handling, and supervision.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and people-development skills to motivate, coach, train, and develop a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach.
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced retail setting.
• Bilingual preferred.
• Experience leading a team of 15+ employees.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to relocate within Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, or surrounding states.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and POS systems.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
• Background and motor vehicle checks and drug screen clearance.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Assets Protection and People & Culture to investigate incidents and support follow-up.
• Delegate daily tasks to supervisors and team members to fulfill operations.
• Coordinate deposits and currency exchanges and alert management to discrepancies.
• Lead and inspire a team while maintaining a positive, accountable work environment.
• Uphold policies, safety protocols, and company values to achieve operational excellence.
• Provide coaching, feedback, and growth opportunities to staff.
• Support onboarding and documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Adjust sales floor layouts using company reports to maximize revenue.
• Oversee inventory and donations to maintain quality and production levels.
• Assist with recruiting, hiring, training, and staff development.
