Job summary

Extramile in Boise, ID is hiring for an Assistant Manager in Training (AIT) to gain hands-on experience across store operations, drive sales and profitability, coach staff, control expenses, and oversee merchandising and inventory, with a path to management.

The role is full-time with overnight shifts; shift differential eligibility applies to late hours. Successful candidates will improve customer service and loss prevention while supporting district stores.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED.
• Open availability to support a 24/7 operation, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Experience supervising teams in a food service or retail environment.
• At least 3 months of customer service experience in retail.
• Strong passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
• Excellent communication and a friendly, can-do attitude.
• Driver license and reliable transportation preferred.
• Must be of legal age to sell alcohol and tobacco.
• Ability to foster teamwork and adapt to change.
• Ability to think quickly and respond to change.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional service by greeting customers and expressing thanks.
• Follow and enforce company policies with employees.
• Suggest purchases and promote store specials.
• Ensure sanitation and proper food handling/storage procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness of interior/exterior and equipment.
• Minimize stockouts by restocking shelves, displays, and coolers.
• Assist in training new employees.
• Manage food service and beverage programs to maximize sales and minimize loss.
• Respond to emergencies when the Store Manager is unavailable.
• Operate register and other store equipment as needed.
