Job summary

Dollar General seeks an experienced store manager to lead all store operations, including staffing, training, and day-to-day supervision. You will ensure compliance with policies, optimize inventory, and maintain cash controls while delivering excellent customer service.

The role requires at least a year of retail management experience and strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills to drive store performance and safety in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Ability to recruit, hire and train staff.
• Knowledge of federal and state labor laws and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to laws and policy.
• Provide training, conduct evaluations and counsel, up to termination.
• Recommend pay rates and career advancement.
• Communicate performance expectations and safety standards.
• Open and close the store with proper staffing.
• Evaluate operating statements for sales, profitability and turns.
• Order to meet in-stock targets and manage inventory weekly.
• Stage, stock and store merchandise per company processes.
• Ensure merchandise presentation with pricing and signage.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and control damages.
• Ensure cash control and cashier accountability.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized store.
• Ensure store has necessary tools and equipment.
• Follow SOPs and ensure compliance.
• Complete paperwork according to guidelines.
