Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to lead and develop store teams across operations, staffing, training, and policy compliance. You will oversee ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, and customer service to drive sales and ensure a safe shopping environment.

The role requires leadership experience in retail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to expanding staff capabilities while maintaining inventory accuracy and cash integrity. This is a full-time, on-site position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to laws and policies.
• Provide training, conduct evaluations, identify gaps and counsel as needed.
• Communicate expectations; coordinate meetings to ensure safety and policy adherence.
• Open and close the store reliably; staff appropriately for shifts.
• Evaluate operating statements to identify trends, expenses and shrink.
• Order to meet in-stock targets; manage inventory and cycle counts.
• Ensure merchandise is presented properly with pricing and signage.
• Maintain accurate inventory and cash controls; ensure security.
