Job summary

Dollar General Corporation seeks a Store Manager to lead all store operations, including staffing, training, merchandising and customer service. You will oversee ordering, receiving, stocking and selling while ensuring safety and compliance with company policies.

This role requires at least one year of retail management experience and a high school diploma or equivalent. Expect a fast-paced environment with regular store openings and closings and a strong focus on profitability, shrink reduction

Qualifications

• Reading and interpreting documents such as diagrams, safety rules and operating instructions.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations and percentages.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees according to laws and policies; ensure staffing.
• Provides training, conducts evaluations, identifies gaps and counsels as needed.
• Makes recommendations on pay rate and advancement.
• Communicates performance and safety expectations; coordinates meetings and events.
• Ensures store is staffed and opened/closed regularly; minimum two openings and closings per week.
• Evaluates operating statements for trends, expenses and shrink.
• Manages in-stock targets and weekly ordering review.
• Facilitates staging, stocking and merchandise storage per processes.
• Maintains merchandise presentation, pricing and signage.
• Keeps accurate inventory by controlling damages and paperwork; stock checks.
• Maintains cashier accountability, key control and cash procedures.
• Delivers superior customer service leadership; ensures a safe environment.
