Job summary

Dollar General Corporation in Minnesota seeks a Store Manager to lead all store operations, including staffing, ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation and customer service. You will recruit and develop a team, ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies, monitor performance and drive sales while maintaining a safe, clean shopping environment.

This role requires strong leadership, planning and communication skills, with a high school diploma and retail management experience

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees according to federal and state labor laws and Company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provides proper training for employees; conducts performance evaluations; identifies gaps for appropriate solutions and/or counseling, up to and including termination.
• Makes recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicates performance, conduct and safety expectations regularly; coordinates meetings and events to encourage safety, security and policies.
• Ensures that the store is adequately staffed and effectively opened and closed each day.
• Evaluates operating statements to identify business trends (sales, profitability, and turn).
• Orders to ensure meeting or exceeding of in-stock targets; reviews ordering plan and inventory management issues weekly.
• Facilitates staging, stocking and storage of merchandise following Company work processes.
• Ensures merchandise is presented according to established practices; uses fixtures, pricing and signage effectively.
• Maintains accurate inventory levels by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork, and facility controls.
• Ensures financial integrity of the store through cashier accountability and cash-control procedures.
• Provides superior customer service leadership.
• Maintains a clean, organized store and a safe working/shopping environment.
• Follows Company policies and completes paperwork and deadlines.
