Job summary

Boot Barn in Tampa, FL is looking for an Assistant Store Manager to partner with the Store Manager in driving sales, merchandising standards, and exceptional customer service on the floor. You will lead a team, coach associates, plan events, and help hire and train staff to meet store goals.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree and/or 2–4 years of retail store management experience.
• Experience managing direct reports and leading teams in a selling environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Availability for varied shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Flexibility with scheduling and extended hours when needed.
• Up to 15% travel to support local stores.

Responsibilities

• Lead partners to foster a service-and-selling culture and exceed customer expectations.
• Coach and review goals with partners; provide timely feedback and recognition.
• Develop training plans to improve store performance across operations and merchandising.
• Collaborate with Store Manager on scheduling, hiring, and policy updates.
• Assess local customer needs and plan community-focused events.
• Drive loyalty programs and accountability for team goals.
• Maintain stock levels, merchandising presentations, and signoffs.
• Oversee markdowns, receipts, and inventory shrink plans with the team.
• Ensure store knowledge across product categories and train staff accordingly.
• Complete opening/closing procedures and comply with attendance policies.
